As the world's number one coatings company, we are creating a leadership position in our industry by reducing the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in our products. The AkzoNobel Sustainability Council has recognised the importance of this and has asked a cross functional task force to come up with scenarios for significant VOC reductions in our coatings products- the so-called 'VOC Challenge'.

The Challenge is a key element of the AkzoNobel 'Achieving Zero Footprint' Solution Promise for Tomorrow's Answers Today - Achieving Zero Footprint being the reduction of the environmental impact of our product and process-related activities to the absolute minimum.
